Welcome back to my blog! Get ready to feast your eyes on some cuteness…
A couple of weeks ago, my mom picked up her new clutch of chicks, shipped all the way down from bumble-cluck Michigan. She opted to get the variety pack, complete with a few black, a few white, some brown and spotted, and a couple dusty gray. We were told to handle them as much as possible, so they aren’t quite so chicken. You have to expect to be simultaneously pooped on, though, which happened quite a few times.
The chicks lived under a red light for a few weeks and were recently transferred to the outdoor chicken pen, into their own little house. We have to separate the chicks and hens for now; the older girls are pretty protective of their space at this point. “You know women”, my mom said.
I will keep you updated with the chicks, and yes, I know this is a food blog and these chicks aren’t food…I guess my only retort is that they could be. See you soon. Tchau!
